8 Ways to Naturally Detox

1. Drink Lemon Water

Drinking lemon water first thing in the morning is a great way to detox and flush toxins out of your body. Lemons are full of vitamin C which can help the body detox, and the antioxidants in lemons also activate enzymes to aid digestion.

2. Stock Up on the Dark Leafy Greens

Dark leafy greens are full of so many incredible vitamins and minerals, but they are also full of chlorophyll which helps your body detox naturally. Chlorophyll blocks the absorption of certain harmful substances and help your body rid itself of unwanted toxins.

3. Trade Coffee for Green Tea

Drinking liquids is especially important after an indulgent weekend, but add a cup or two of green tea to your diet in addition to water. Green tea is high in catechin – which helps your liver function optimally and increase the production of detoxifying enzymes.

4. Increase your Fiber Intake Naturally

Fiber is so important to keep your internal system running strong and keep foods moving through. Some great foods that are high in natural fiber are: whole grains, pear with skin, apple with skin, lentils, black beans.

5. Drink 4 L of Water

Water helps flush toxins out of our body naturally. Even if you normally drink enough water, after a weekend with salty foods or extra drinks it’s a good idea to take the water up a notch. Aim for 4L of water to keep your metabolism running strong and your system healthy.

Along with detoxing your body, you also need to take time to detox the mind and spirit.
