Today marks week 3 of my plant based, whole foods challenge! Eating vegan for the past 3 weeks has been an exciting change…and I have already heard amazing stories from some of my readers also doing this challenge who have lost weight, feel great and have been enjoying the challenge to eat way more fruit, vegetables and whole grains.
This week I want to blog about some of my favorite vegan food finds that I have discovered while on this journey, and are so delicious. Many of these have been staples for my plant based journey. Hopefully this will give some of you ideas of other foods you can eat, and show you that being vegan does not mean you have to give up eating good food. Here are 10 of my favorite vegan finds!
1. Organic Sunshine Veggie Burger
These burgers are soy free, gluten free and vegan and taste amazing. You can cook them on the stove or in the microwave if you are in a rush. Available in a variety of flavors including south west, barbecue and garden herb.
2. Engine 2 Ancient Grain Blend
When you want a quick dinner option, make one of the ancient grain medleys for an easy side dish that you can heat up in minutes in the microwave. One serving is also filled with 6g of protein!
3. Bobo Oat Bars
I love having protein or granola bars around the apartment for that morning when I am running late. A lot of the bars out there are made with whey (dairy) or soy which I am actually allergic to. These soft granola bars are vegan, gluten free and tastes delicious! My go-to vegan breakfast on the go.
4. Outshine Fruit Bars
Outshine makes a variety of frozen bars, but a number of the fruit flavors are dairy free! Check the labels to be sure which one you are buying, but definitely try the the lime which is my favorite.
5. So Delicious Coconut Whipped Cream
Whipped cream is a staple on cake, ice cream and with berries…so I definitely wanted to find a vegan alternative to whipped cream…and here it is! Made with coconut milk, you cannot taste the difference.
6. Heidi Ho Vegan Cheese
Cheese is a big concern for many new vegans who hate to think about giving this up. I have tried a number of different vegan cheese, but the Heidi Ho Vegan Cheese spreads are definitely my favorite! Try the smokey flavor and the blueberry…those are my top 2!

Hummus is a great way to add some protein as well as great flavor to your vegan life. Hummus tastes great on a sandwich with vegetables and whole wheat bread, or as a delicious dip!

I spent a lot of time looking for a flour free bread that was full of fiber and heathy ingredients. The Ezekial bread is hearty, full of fiber, flour-free and very filling. Also available in a variety of flavors.
9. Barney Creamy Almond Butter
I have tried a lot of different brands of almond butter…and this one is definitely my favorite! The creamy texture is not watery or gritty, and tastes subtle and delicious. A great way to get protein in for breakfast, or a snack.

This frozen chocolate covered banana makes a great treat for the summer! The dark chocolate version is dairy free and a healthy ice cream alternative. Perfect for a hot summer afternoon.
