2. Blackberries
Blackberries are my favorite fruit to eat on top of cold cereal or oatmeal. Full of antioxidants, this fruit helps reduce the risk of heart disease and certain cancers.
3. Asparagus
This vegetable is packed with health benefits. With vitamins A, C, E, and K and fiber – this food is loaded with nutrients. I love to eat asparagus roasted with a small amount of olive oil, salt and pepper.
4. Peaches
Summertime means peach time…stock up on these fruits while they are affordable and in season. Peaches help cleanse the kidneys and bladder and keep skin healthy with vitamins A and C.
5. Corn
One of my favorite side dishes, fresh corn on the cob, tastes delicious grilled in the summer or on top of a salad. Corn also has healthy fiber and a number of vitamins.

When it comes to super greens – Kale is King. Packed with vitamins, calcium, potassium and magnesium, kale is full of nutrients with very few calories.
8. Salmon
Salmon is an incredible source of omega-3 fats, vitamin D and proteins that help improve bone density and strength. Eating salmon regularly has been shown to reduce the risk of depression and cardiovascular disease.
